LA Dog Lovers Guide

If there is one thing LA dog parents love more than matcha lattes after early morning yoga, hiking, and beach-friendly weather virtually year-round, it’s their dogs. Wander around the city of stars, and you’d be hard-pressed to find an outdoor eatery without at least one canine companion in residence.

From dog-friendly beaches to famous landmarks and swanky hotels, here are ten of our favorite things to do as a dog lover in LA!

1. Lake Hollywood Park

Nestled in the hills, Lake Hollywood park is the ideal place to take your pup for a picnic, a scenic hike, and of course, a selfie underneath the famous Hollywood sign!

2. Rosie’s Dog Beach

The only off-leash dog beach in LA, Rosie’s is a landmark for dog lovers. Spend the day watching your pup play in the water and soak up the sun.

3. Pups in the Park at Dodger Stadium

Take them out to the ball game!

Once a year, Dodger stadium opens its doors to its four-legged fans, and nothing is more wholesome. Take an actual walk on the field (what?!) and eat a Dodger dog with your dog.

4. The Grove

If your dog is less of an outdoor enthusiast and more of a pampered pooch, it’s time to head out for some retail therapy. Located in the heart of LA, this famous outdoor shopping destination will allow you and your pup to stroll through Tiffany’s and Nordstrom. To end the day, catch an al-fresco meal on the patio during the golden hour that the city is famous for.

5. Puppy Yoga at Laughing Frog Yoga

Because what is more LA than taking a yoga class with puppies? While you’ll have to leave your pup at home for this one, we think it’s worth it!

6. Angel City Brewery

Craft beer and tacos are our love language, and Angel City Brewery does not disappoint. Take your pup to hang with you while you unwind after a long day in traffic.

7. Hollywood Walk of Fame

One of the first stops on the list for any tourist, you can take your pup up and down the streets of Hollywood Blvd. to find your favorite celebrity! We recommend animal advocate Betty White!

And did you know that there are three dogs with stars on the infamous walk? Keep an eye out for Lassie, Rin Tin Tin, and Strongheart.

8. Experience Healing Reiki with Your Dog

Developed in the early 1900’s, Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that promotes relaxation and stress reduction through gentle touch. In LA, you can experience this with your pup!

9. Hotel Palomar, Beverly Hills

Named one of the best pet friendly hotels in LA by Forbes, Kimpton Palomar in Beverly Hills’ motto is “if your pet fits through the door, it stays free. This means no size or breed restrictions (hallelujah!). They provide you with water bowls and plush beds and will greet your fur baby by name—time to order Spaghetti to-go and spend the night with your pup.

10. Beverly Hills Hotel

Does it get more iconic? Live your best life with your best friend at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Lush landscapes and to-die-for pools: this stay is a must for any dog mom. And don’t forget to bring those sunglasses for star watching; this place is a magnet for celebrities.

According to their website, they allow two pets of any size in the bungalows, and crated pets may be left unattended in rooms if the front desk is aware. Dogs staying at The Beverly Hills Hotel will be treated to a personalized, bone-shaped dog cookie, a dog bed, and food and water bowls.
