Battle of the Gram: Dog Influencers Vs Celebrities

Being a dog influencer myself, it felt only natural for my newest addition to the family, Kenny, to get his own Instagram account. I was shocked (and a little jealous) to see that within a month, my furry Shih Tzu had overtaken my follower count by a healthy margin. In awe, I took to that handy Instagram search bar to sniff out the competition. And what I found was worth sharing… Check out these top dog influencers who have more followers than some very notable humans.

5 Dog Influencers vs Famous Influencers

Jiffpom (10.2m) vs. The Royal Family (10.1m)

Dog Influencers

Please bow before the honorable and unforgiving bundle of holy cuteness, Jiffpom!  I never thought I’d see the day when the king of canine supermodels would overtake Her Majesty the Queen of England.

Though, I guess it’s not that surprising when you consider Jiffpom’s three Guinness World Records. Not only does Jiffpom have the most Instagram followers for an animal, but he also holds the record for fastest dog and for walking on two legs!

So, the Pomeranian reigns at the top of all dog-fluencers and is the only Insta-canine to hit the ten million threshold. Of course, Queen Elizabeth II outshines the little cotton ball when it comes to her ruling all else beyond social media. And she’s definitely got a leg up on Jiffpom for her endless supply of summer hats!

Doug the Pug (3.9m) vs. Morgan Freeman (2.1m)

Dog Influencers

Who would have thought a dog would surpass even the man who has seemingly played God in several Hollywood films!?

Known for his range of movies and narration skills, Freeman is one of the most worshipped figures in Hollywood.

That is, until Doug the pug came along. Often dominating pet influencer searches, this miniature adorably-wrinkly pup has melted millions of fans’ hearts, almost doubling Freeman’s Instagram followers.

It’s probably Doug’s almost human-like expressions and those big brown eyes that get him all those likes. But, then again, those distinguished wrinkles are something that these two legends do have in common.

Tuna the ‘Chiweenie’ (2.1m) vs. Michelle Phan (2m)

Dog Influencers

Tuna the chihuahua is known for his trademark smile (or frown), and his natural underbite that’s known to charm a massive following of pet lovers.

And while Tuna is out there showing off his cute little teeth, famous beauty influencers like Michelle Phan are showcasing a different kind of beauty. Phan’s fame comes from her awe-inspiring tutorials where she shows off how to cover even the mightiest blemish. And while we’re sitting on the couch taking in her tips and tricks, we can’t help but wonder if Tuna’s approach to au naturale beauty is the next big thing. They do say beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Swaggy the Wolfdog (1.1m) vs. The United States of America (153k)

Dog Influencers

It’s certainly no joke that an owner’s love for their dog is insurmountable. I just wouldn’t expect it to be the case when it comes down to dog vs. country.

I mean, Americans are known for many things and patriotism is definitely up there. However, in the world of social media and doggy influencers, Americans seem to be more interested in dogs rocking bling than in the stars and stripes.

Clearly, being the flyest dog-fluencer of them all, it makes sense that Swaggy the husky is reeling in all the babes and the likes! Could it be those baby blue eyes and dark sideburns that have captured the entire nation’s attention?

So, Are You Team Dog Influencers or Team Celebrities?

It’s undeniable that social media has altered our preferences and values. It’s definitely broadened our horizons in a lot of ways.

And while I’ve been good so far with unfollowing all the Kardashians of the world, I wouldn’t mind seeing more pooches with fake extensions and dressed up in the hottest fashion trends of the week.
