Picture this: you’ve had a long week of work, you’ve been stuck inside with your behind glued to your chair and your eyes to your laptop. You’re more than ready for those two precious weekend days to come so that you can unplug. You’ve checked the weather forecast… looks good. You’ve made plans to hang out with your dog, he’s on board. But now what? Well that’s where we can help! Check out some of our favorite dog-friendly weekend activities below.
Weekend getaway but make it dog friendly
Who doesn’t love a spontaneous trip? Whether it be to a nearby campsite, a road trip to a neighboring city or, even a quick flight for an adventurous weekend away. Check out What the Pup’s best tips for camping, flying, or road tripping with your pup, pack your bags, and get ready for a change in scenery!
Green thumbs unite
Create your dream garden and enjoy some outdoor time with your four-legged best friend. You can tidy up your landscaping and plant those beautiful hydrangeas you’ve been wanting to add to the garden while your pup gets out their zoomies (and scares off the bunnies).
Rise and shine!
During the week take some time to scout out the best areas for watching the sunrise. Then, come Saturday morning, wake up nice and early, grab the leash, and head to your new-found spot for you and your dog to catch the beautiful sunrise. Your pup will love the special outside time with you in the morning. If you’re not a morning person, sunset with your pup will be just as beautiful!
Outdoor events are all the rage
It’s that time of year – outdoor events are starting up again and they’re a great way to spend some quality time with your pup outside. Think: farmers markets, festivals, concerts, and even movies in the park. All you need to do is a quick Google search to find out which events are happening locally this weekend!
Picnic in the park
Use the time off of work to make yourself a healthy lunch and whip up a few homemade dog treats for your pal. Pack a cooler and hit up your local park. You can even send out an invite to your friends and their pups too – the more the merrier, after all!
Got big plans with your pup this weekend? We’d love to hear about them! Cute dog photos are always encouraged at whatthepup@spotandtango.com.
