12 Days of Pawlidays: Happy Life Animal Rescue

The holidays are nearly upon us! For many this can be a great time to celebrate gratitude for your family and share the joy with others. Because this is such wonderful time of giving, it is important to make sure we don’t forget about animal rescues who often have a harder time during this period when adoption rates slow and rescue dogs are desperate for their forever home (or even a foster family). That’s why for the first 12 days of December, we will be featuring a different animal rescue each day, sharing how they started, and what they could use most during the holiday season.

First up is Happy Life Animal Rescue in Patterson, NY. Happy Life Animal Rescue was founded by the Forster Family. Lorraine Forster started volunteering at various local rescue organizations to help her child, Colin, overcome his diagnosis of selective mutism. Lorraine and her family fell in love with rescuing animals and the rewarding experience of saving animals from severe and dire situations while also bringing families together. When the Forster Family saw that they could have such a positive impact on the lives of so many animals and families, they founded Happy Life Animal Rescue. Where they strive for everyone– both human and fur babies– to have a HAPPY LIFE!

Because HLAR strives to provide the highest quality care for their animals, the biggest challenge the rescue faces is the expensive cost of veterinarian and medical care for their animals. Animals adopted out at Happy Life Animal Rescue are fully up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed/neutered. Such care is costly and because HLAR will not sacrifice such important care for these animals in need, they appreciate any donations to support the medical expenses of their animals. One of the longest residents in Happy Life Animal Rescue History is Penelope. Penelope is a 2 year old Pit bull terrier mix. Penelope is special needs and deaf so requires extra care but that doesn’t mean her heart isn’t just as big! She is a love bug and looking for her forever home for this holiday season!! For more info on Penelope, check out their website at www.happylifeanimalrescue.org.

Another loving pup is Abby! This sweet hound mix is about 7 months old, full of life and energy and looking for a family to give her love! She’s towards the bigger end of medium and can be a little shy at first, but once she’s comfortable watch out cause she’ll quickly become your best friend!

If interested in adopting from Happy Life Animal Rescue the first step is to fill out an adoption application on their website!
